James Alberts1President
Rev. James Alberts, pastor of Higher Ground Church of God in Christ, St. Cloud

Pastor Alberts has led Higher Ground Church of God in Christ for 14 years; and has been the Jurisdictional Secretary of the Minnesota Churches of God in Christ for 9 years. He is a board member of the Collegeville Institute for Ecumenical Studies. He has great experience with strategic planning and organizational management aspects of board work.

Sarah Gleason1Vice President
Sarah Gleason, member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Minneapolis

Ms. Gleason has 16 years of experience for and/or with nonprofit organizations as a program director or manager; as a neighborhood organizer and as an organizational consultant. She has been a leader with ISAIAH for 16 years, and sees herself as a co-owner with a significant stake in the organization’s future. She is also the co-chair of the St. Joan of Arc core team.

Dan Quillan1Treasurer
Dan Quillin, member of Mayflower United Church of Christ, Minneapolis

Mr. Quillin was a State of Minnesota employee for 38 years and a supervisor for 25, with experience in managing, hiring and maintaining a staff. He served in public office (1975 Minneapolis City Council) and has several years of experience working with many community organizations. He is an active leader on the ISAIAH Health Equity Team.

Daniel Perez1Secretary
Daniel Perez, member of Church of All Nations Presbyterian Church, Columbia Heights

Mr. Perez has been involved in several nonprofits over the past five years; and has experience in direct service, fundraising and grant-writing. He is a social worker, and has provided direct service to people as well as advocating on the policy level. He brings the lens of a well-rounded professional who can focus on immediate needs as well as long-term vision and a deep understanding of people whose voices are not often acknowledged have a longing to be heard, and to have their perspectives and ideas valued.

AnitaAnita Alexander1 Alexander, member of Camphor Memorial United Methodist Church, St. Paul

Ms. Alexander has a business degree in finance and has served on her church council for a number of years, developing annual goals and objectives. She also recently retired after 20+ years of service as associate warden at Lino Lakes Correctional facilities; giving her the skills needed to see the big picture and break it down in manageable pieces.

Demetria Carter1Demetria Carter, member of Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, Minneapolis

Ms. Carter has over 20 years of Human Resources Management, including strategic planning, organizational development and training. She has non-profit experience with the Alpha Kappa Alpha Service Sorority and three different Lutheran churches. She is eager to bring her team building training and expertise to the Board.

Rev. Paul Slack, New Creation Church, Minneapolis

Rev. Slack served as ISAIAH’s President from 2012-2016. Prior to 2012, he lead ISAIAH’s five-year campaign and negotiations with the Minnesota Department of Transportation to invest millions of Federally allocated dollars for apprenticeship and training in highway construction jobs for low-income people of color and women.

Molly Weyrens1Molly Weyrens, member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Faith Community, Sartell
Ms. Weyrens has been a board member for the Northern Communities Land Trust in Duluth; and she has an understanding of how a board can function in a way that is life-giving and healthy. Her strengths reside in strategic planning and organizational management.
