ISAIAH is launching a new Citizenship Campaign on Thursday, February 21 in West Saint Paul.
As people of faith, we believe in the inherent dignity of all God’s children, and we practice welcoming the stranger and protecting the poor and marginalized. Every human being has sacred worth and is created in the image of God.
Our faith and our values call us to work to expand the circle of human concern and to create shared prosperity, wholeness and health for all people. It is morally unacceptable that millions of immigrant families – people who are committed to this country – are unable to fully live out their God-given gifts.
A robust national debate over immigration is underway. This week both the President and eight Senators representing both parties released ambitious immigration reform proposals. We have never been so close to creating a roadmap to citizenship for 11 million aspiring Americans. We as people of faith have a powerful role to play to make this a reality.
Now is the time for people of faith to act:
Faith leaders will come together to hear stories, learn, and develop strategies to advance a pathway to citizenship for thousands of Minnesotans.
